Cookies and browser storage

Last updated 28 August 2026

Current position

The Software Tailor website offers optional audience measurement through Google Analytics (measurement ID G-L2BM633HLQ) and Microsoft Clarity (project gey61hzq4z). Their JavaScript and network requests are blocked until you choose “Allow analytics”. Rejecting optional analytics does not restrict ordinary access to static pages. We do not load Meta Pixel or another advertising pixel.

Your choice applies for up to six months, after which we ask again. You can reopen “Privacy choices” from every page and change it at any time.

Necessary storage and requested features

The first-party st_consent cookie records only the version of this notice and whether you allowed optional analytics. It is necessary to remember and honour your choice. The deployment planner uses sessionStorage entries st_deployment_plan and st_deployment_quote only after you choose “Prepare contact hand-off”. They remain in the current tab and are not sent automatically.

The Store keeps its current cart in page memory or a URL you choose to share. A random st_checkout_session value is stored for the current tab to protect checkout against repeated or automated attempts. Cloudflare Turnstile, Stripe and other providers may use technology necessary to prevent abuse, authenticate a requested action or complete payment. These features do not depend on optional Analytics or Clarity consent.

Google Analytics

If allowed, Google Analytics uses identifiers and cookies commonly named _ga and _ga_* to distinguish browsers and sessions. It receives page and referral URLs, timestamps, browser/device characteristics, IP-derived approximate location and interaction events such as a successfully submitted enquiry. We disable Google advertising signals and ad-personalisation signals in the site configuration and use the data to understand aggregate site performance.

Microsoft Clarity

If allowed, Microsoft Clarity uses identifiers and cookies commonly named _clck and _clsk, and may use Microsoft-domain identifiers. It records page structure and interactions such as clicks, scrolling, navigation and viewport changes so we can review heatmaps and reconstructed sessions. Form inputs and regions marked data-clarity-mask are masked before upload. We do not use Clarity's identify API to attach a name, email, app installation ID or machine ID to a website session.

Your controls and withdrawal

The first banner gives equally available allow, reject and granular-choice actions. “Privacy choices” in the footer reopens the controls. On withdrawal, the site sends denied consent signals to Google and Microsoft, asks Clarity to clear its cookies, deletes accessible first-party analytics cookies and reloads without the analytics scripts. Earlier reports may remain for the applicable retention period.

You can also clear planner data from the planner, close the browser tab, or use browser controls to inspect and remove site data. Blocking all storage may prevent a requested plan from carrying to Contact or a checkout attempt from being correlated, but does not prevent ordinary reading. Questions can be sent to privacy@softwaretailor.com.
